Don Dressler

Attorney/Risk Management Consultant

National leader in labor law, risk management and human resources solutions, Don Dressler, has been designing customized HR packages that significantly reduce workers compensation costs, protect employers from non-compliance, while providing effective worker training solutions to southern California companies for more than twenty years.

From 1987 to 2003, Mr. Dressler was the President of Insurance Services for Western Growers Association, a regional trade association representing fresh fruit and vegetable growers in California and Arizona. Mr. Dressler headed their health and workers' compensation programs. He was President of Western Growers Insurance Company, a California and Arizona workers' compensation insurer and Quail Street Casualty Ltd., a Bermuda based captive insurance company.

Up to that time, he served as the Executive Vice President of Western Growers Association, the chief operating officer of the trade association, overseeing all internal operations, and Vice President and General Counsel of Western Growers Association, establishing a group legal practice to provide labor and employment law. Mr. Dressler also served on the Legislative Counsel for the California Farm Bureau Federation, and established their group legal practice, Farm Employers Labor Service.

Dressler is a practicing attorney specializing in employment law and human resources issues. He consults on insurance and risk management issues for private companies and trade associations and has served such firms as Western Growers Association, a regional trade association representing fresh fruit and vegetable growers in California and Arizona, and the Western Growers Insurance Company, a workers' compensation insurer.

Dressler simplifies and clarifies employee relations and compliance concerns by removing the confusion and complications of regulations on:

  • Employee and personnel policies
  • Workers compensation
  • All current Cal/OSHA regulations

Mr. Dressler served as a director and on the Executive Committee of California Coalition on Workers' Compensation. He served on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Association Executives, and as Director of the Association of California Insurance Companies; Vice President of the California Association of Small Employer Health Plans; President and Legislative Committee Chair of The Association Health Care Coalition. He served as Chairman of the Finance Commission for the City of Irvine from 1993 to 2011.

Active in community affairs, Mr. Dressler Chairs the Annual Irvine Police Department Awards Banquet, is Treasurer of the Exchange Club of Irvine and serves  on the Board of Directors for Western Family Services (a health care organization providing mental health services to children and youth in Orange County)  and ProVisors, a network of over 2,000 top business professionals.

Dressler is a frequent speaker on Workers' Compensation, Health Insurance and Organizational Development issues. He also is a Trustee of the Kansas State University Foundation.
